My Worship Playlist
Meet Jess

by Jess Walnofer

I love to worship.

My dad always taught me to have a deep love for music – all music. But most of all, he taught me to be a worshipper.

I believe there are many ways to feel the presence of God, but I just think that us singing over Him opens the floodgates of heaven like no other. I can’t help but think that God is looking down on us all, smiling with joy at His worshippers.

Wor-ship : “The feeling or expression of reverence or adoration for a deity”

There are so many different ways to worship. Not only with music, but with serving, studying and spending any time in God’s Word. You may feel more connected with God by serving in church on the weekends or by reading His word. But for me, I feel more connected when I choose to listen to worship music and so disconnected when I leave that part out.

Maybe you need some new worship bands to listen to or you have no idea where to start. So I just thought I would take some time to share a bit about some of my favorites!

It is so hard for me to choose only a few worship songs, but I have narrowed it down to some of my most listened to.

If you want to see all that I listen to, check out my Spotify Worship Playlist. The songs on this playlist are some of my absolute favorites and I’m more than happy to share them with you!

My Worship Playlist

Kari Jobe

Kari Jobe is one of the all-time greatest worship leaders. I followed her all throughout high school and still, to this day, turn to her albums at least once a week.

She has such fire in her when she is worshipping and it’s almost as if she is grabbing heaven and bringing it down to us!

Her Majestic album is my favorite and I would recommend any one of the songs on there.

However, my favorite is Let the Heavens Open.

Bethel Music

Bethel music is composed of so many wonderful and amazing individual artists, I feel bad talking about them as whole and not each separately.

Each album has songs by different artists, and I think that is what makes it so unique. Steffani Gretzinger, Amanda Cook, Kirsitene Dimarco, Jeremy Riddle…these artists are all a part of Bethel Music.

I recently had the opportunity to join Bethel’s online worship university. I have been studying teachings underneath all of these artists and they are so much more than singers! It is amazing to hear their stories and see how their relationship with God has transformed through worship. I think they bring that out in every song they lead.

A few songs I would recommend looking up are No Longer Slaves, It Is Well, You Make Me Brave, and King of My Heart.

Kim Walker-Smith.

Kim Walker is another artist whom I have followed since high-school. One of my most-liked songs by her is How He Loves Us.

I love to just sit underneath the words of this song and open my eyes again and again to how much God loves us.

Will Reagan and the United Pursuit Band.

I don’t remember how I stumbled across this band but I am so very glad that I did. They have such a soft touch with their music. They are one of the best bands to listen to while I am reading my Bible or when I want to have some quiet worship music on in the background.

A couple of favorites from them are Set a Fire, Nothing I Hold Onto, and Climb.

The song that I am loving most right now is So Will I (100 Billion X) by Hillsong.

Guys, we were created to worship. I firmly believe that.

So next time your week is feeling dull and you can’t seem to feel God’s presence, I just encourage you to put on some worship music and let your heart be open!

Have a happy Sunday, friends.
