The seasons are officially changing! We’re starting to have the tell-tale smell of fall in the air, with thoughts of pumpkin spice and everything nice. Aside from summer, fall is the next best thing when it comes to date nights (maybe the best thing because, snuggle weather!).
Here are some fall date night ideas that you must try this fall season!
Make a bonfire and snuggle up next to it. Duh!
Roast Marshmallows –
…next to said bonfire! You can even make some s’mores if you’re feeling adventurous.
Watch a scary movie –
If the weather isn’t cooperating, snuggle up inside! Pop some popcorn and put on a scary movie. If you’re anything like me, this guarantees lots of snuggles because I jump at anything, ha!
Hay Ride –
Hay rides are some of the best dates! You can marvel at the stars and enjoy being outdoors together. There is just something about fall nights, cozy sweaters, and long hay rides!
Pumpkin patch date –
Make a trip to the pumpkin patch a date night! See who can pick out the best pumpkin and…
Carve Pumpkins together –
Whether you like them scary or cute, carving pumpkins together is so fun! Take a picture with your pumpkin and your pumpkins (see what I did there?) and use them to decorate your front porch for fall.
Go through a corn maze –
No maps, no cheaters and it’s even better when it’s dark! Hold hands and find your way out.
Watch a favorite show together every week –
One of our very favorite T.V. shows starts a new season every fall! Find a show you both like and make time to watch it together each week. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be together! 🙂
Make your own PSL’s –
Like I said, pumpkin spice and everything nice. There are so many things you can make with pumpkin spice that I didn’t even know about. Try a few fun Pinterest pumpkin spice recipes and pick your favorite!
Make caramel apples –
One of John’s favorite fall things is homemade caramels. We usually use some of the caramel to snack on and make caramel apples with the rest! So yummy!
Take some fall photos together –
Fall leaves are such a great backdrop for some pretty family or couple photos. Schedule a fall mini session and get some pictures done. Tip : You can even get some adorable fall photos done at the pumpkin patch! What goes together better than leaves, pumpkins and love?
Watch football and make your favorite appetizers together –
Y’all. We do this all season long. If you need some new appetizer ideas, check out 5 Yummy Game Day Snacks!
Go for a hike –
Find a place with some beautiful fall foliage and go for a little scenic hike! Or just get out and enjoy the outdoors before it gets too cold.
Have a picnic –
Fall picnics can be so fun! Bring along a cozy blanket and some good snacks. Enjoy the time together.
Take a scenic drive to see the fall colors –
If hiking isn’t your thing, you can also take a scenic drive! Living in Missouri, there are so many great spots to go. Bluffs full of oranges, greens, yellows and reds…
Go to the zoo –
Usually this would be a summer activity, but why not beat the heat and go in the fall?? The weather is perfect and it will be much more pleasant walking around.
Go apple picking –
Go pick some apples yourself! Bake a pie or use them for your caramel apples this year.
Decorate halloween themed cookies –
One of my favorite things to do for Christmas is to decorate sugar cookies! So why not do the same thing for fall? Make some scary halloween cookies together and enjoy a sweet snack after.
Go to your local farmers market –
Farmer’s markets are usually bustling towards the end of summer and fall! Visit your local one before it closes for the winter.
Make the first hot chocolate of the season –
I love hot chocolate because it gets me real excited for Christmas!! If you’re wanting to get in the mood for the holidays and the weather is finally chilly enough, make the first hot chocolate of the season.
Go Christmas shopping –
If that isn’t enough to get you in the spirit, get a head start on all of your Christmas shopping! Shopping for family, friends, or kids is so much more fun together and we love to turn it into a date!
I hope you’ll try some of these date ideas this fall! Stay cozy, friends!
